The Hero's Journey Program is an innovative six week adventure program
held in Nevada's back-country. The program is designed to help
at risk, disadvantaged youth overcome life's challenges.
Our Goals
- Remove youth from the negative peer environment and/or dysfunctional
family situations, allowing them time to reflect on life without adverse
distractions.

- Provide intense physical activity and outdoor skill development
-- backpacking, hiking, climbing, knot tying, orienteering, first
aid, etc. These outdoor activities and skill development provide
a means for our youth to build self-confidence and positive self-identity.
- Offer rigorous academic work in writing and reading -- journals,
creative writing, stories, and articles. Our students receive
high school credits through Clark County School District.
- Guide youth on a hero's journey. Students will shed their
old identity and begin to build a new one characterized by accountability,
team work, trust, responsibility, decision making, self discipline,
leadership and more.
- Ensure progress through the Boy Scouts of America scouting program
-- Achieve First Class Rank.
- Teach character development -- choice/accountability, teamwork,
trust, responsibility, leadership, etc.
Our Youth - Youth in this program are selected from
current Eagle Quest clientele, youth for whom we provide in-home services,
youth that are referred
by various county and state agencies, as well as private individual
referrals. These youth typically display the following problem
behaviors:

of school credits
Strain on the society, family, and peers
Involved in criminal activity, drugs, gangs, etc.
Out of control at home and in the community
Lack of parental guidance and home structure
Disrespectful and defiant to adults
Runaways
