Basic Skills Training services help recipients learn constructive cognitive and behavioral skills through positive reinforcement, modeling, problem solving, redirection, role playing, journaling and other training techniques. Services are incorporated in and around busy family and client schedules Monday through Sunday to allow flexibility and effectiveness of interventions related to recipients goals and objectives.
 
Therapeutic interventions include:
  • Learning safe and appropriate behaviors;
  • Learning how to interact with others;
  • Learning how to communicate with others;
  • Teaching parents Basic Skills techniques so they can continue rehabilitative mental health in the home and in the community;
  • Learning organization and time management;
  • Learning necessary skills to begin partial independent or fully dependent lives.
